Gemini Springs Dog Park

Summary:   Gemini is easy to find provided you take the correct Exit off I-4. It’s Exit 108 just after you go over Lake Monroe from Sanford. Once you get off the exit, simply head West on Dirksen Drive until you see the park on your left. Go into the park and the Dog Park is immediately to the right. It’s clean, nicely kept up and in very good shape. The park has a load of old shade trees and is full of brush that gives you that old Florida feeling. This concerns us because dogs could get bit by a wild animal, or step on something that could hurt them. It has separate Small Dog and Large Dog areas, and a Dog Water Fountain/Shower. People have benches, a picnic table, and lots of quiet scenery to take in. The park is truly wonderful to just walk around in with your pooch!

Park Rules:

• This area is for dogs and their handlers, not children.
• Puppies must be at least four months old.
• Dogs must wear a collar with current rabies and ID tags. Handlers must carry a leash at all times.
• Dogs must be leashed when entering and leaving the area.
• Handlers must immediately clean up after their dogs.
• Dogs in heat are not allowed.
• Dogs showing aggression towards other dogs or people must be removed from the area.
• Handlers are legally responsible for their dogs and injuries caused by them.
• An adult dog handler must always be within view and voice command of each dog.
• Users of this facility do so at their own risk. The County of Volusia will not be liable for any injury or damage caused by any dog or person inside the park.
