Barber Dog Park

Summary:   Barber Park is located just north-west of the Orlando International Airport off Gatlin Avenue between South Conway Road and Dixie Belle Drive. The Dog Park is located within the larger Barber Park at It’s far north-west corner. It is a small park that is clean, simple and newly built. It has both Small Dog and Large Dog areas, a Water Fountain for Dogs/Humans, Dogipot for cleanup, and a few simple Agility Obstacles in each area.The Humans have identical Blue Tents anchored to a cement slab in both areas. Each tent shades a picnic table, two benches and two Garbage Cans in each area. Additionally, each area has one picnic table that is uncovered. This park has no shade trees and can get very hot during the height of Summer. This park ranks low on Tranquility because Loud Jet Airplanes fly directly over the park on their way to the airport. Barber is quite plain and isn’t much to look at. Hopefully, as the budget allows, park officials will add bigger shade trees and additional amenities.

Park Rules:

• Dog owners must be in fenced area at all times within view of their dogs.
• Dogs should be under voice command. (i.e. come when called by their owner)
• There is a limit of two (2) dogs per person.
• Dogs must be removed from the dog park at the first sign of aggression.
• Aggressive dogs are not permitted on the premises.
• Large dogs (over 30lbs.) are not permitted in the small dog area.
• Dog owners must have a leash in hand at all times.
• Children 12 years of age and younger must be closely supervised by an adult.
• Dogs must be leashed prior to entering and upon leaving the dog park.
• Dog feces must be cleaned up by owners. Disposable bags are available with the park.
• Female dogs in heat are prohibited from entering the dog park.
• Please fill in any holes your dog digs.
• No food of any kind is allowed within the dog park.
• Do not run within the dog park. Leave running to the dogs.
• Dogs must be vaccinated and display current licenses.
• Puppies under four (4) months of age are prohibited.
• Sick dogs are not permitted in the park.
• All other general rules of Barber Park are applicable within the dog park. Persons who violate these rules are subject to removal from the park and/or suspension.
