Seabiscuit (2003) {Click on th Pic}
Seabiscuit is based on the real life story of the four-legged racing legend. It is an inspirational story of how three underdogs came together to make sports history. Charles Howard (Jeff Bridges), Jim Smith (Chris Cooper) and Red Pollard (Toby Maguire) are impressive in their roles. Fate brings them together during the Depression Era. Each has had to deal with their own personal tragedy and heartache. The movie moves along as they turn Seabiscuit from an underestimated, no good nag, into a winner and we become inspired.
The "Biscuit" starts to rack up impressive wins and shows he has the heart of a champion. The story is one of inspiration. Seabiscuit was the biggest story during the "Great Depression." You can't feel anything but good after watching this film! It is beautifully shot, wonderfully directed, well cast and well told.
This movie touches the heart because it shows how you can be at your lowest point, but there's always hope that things will get better! It shows you how we need each other, and that even the supposed underdog can become a champion.
Red and the "Biscuit" are seemingly done after Red has a tragic accident and the "Biscuit" comes up lame. It is all taken away. They spend a long time just getting back to normal. Red starts to see that the "Biscuit" may be able to run and secretly trains him. They come back and run in the Santa Anita and win in one of the greatest comebacks in sports history!
This is a film that will make you cry, make you cheer and simply make you believe that we are never done until our last breath is taken. If you haven't seen it, go out and rent it or buy it today! This film gets a big, happy Tail Wag!
